Back-to-back sessions, a ringing phone
Physiotherapists work with their hands, often in thirty-minute sessions that follow one another without a break. Answering the phone between two patients means cutting into treatment time or falling behind for the rest of the day.
Your work also revolves around courses of treatment: a patient comes for several sessions spread over several weeks, with a prescription to follow. Scheduling these courses consistently, managing postponements and tracking the number of sessions remaining takes rigour and method.

Scheduling a course, not just an appointment
When a new patient calls with a prescription, I schedule the whole course straight away, taking into account the prescribed frequency, your availability and the patient's constraints. They leave with all their dates, and you with a predictable diary.
I also keep an eye on the end of each course: when a patient is nearing their last session, you are informed so you can decide on a possible renewal or assessment.

Frequently asked questions
Can you manage a practice with several physios?
Yes, including allocating patients between practitioners and managing shared rooms or equipment.
Do you track the number of prescribed sessions?
Yes, I keep an up-to-date record of sessions completed and remaining, and I flag prescriptions that are about to expire.
What about home sessions?
I group visits by geographical area as far as possible to limit your travel.
How many hours should I plan for?
For an independent physio, a few hours a week are often enough to cover peak-time calls and scheduling.
